Seeking Levy and Bond "for" and "against" Committee Members
West Valley School District is seeking applications from District residents interested in being appointed to committees to write the “for” and “against” statements for the Yakima County Local Voters’ Pamphlet related to the District’s following ballot measures to be considered at the February 10, 2026 election: Proposition No. 1 – Replacement Educational Programs and Operation Levy and Proposition No. 2 – Bonds to Renovate Aging Schools and Improve Safety. Interested residents should send their name, address, email address, phone number and committee name (or which position they represent) to Ryan McDaniel, Assistant Superintendent, West Valley School District #208, 8902 Zier Road, Yakima, WA 98908 or via email at mcdanielr@wvsd208.org by November 20th, 2025. The Board will take action on the appointments at its November 24th, 2025 meeting.

6/3/21 - Secretaries: The District and the Secretaries Association met to begin discussions leading to a new agreement. The parties hope to meet again next week.
6/3/21 - Teamsters: The District met with Teamster Local No.706 representing all classified employees and reached a tentative agreement for a two year extension of the current agreement. More details will be available in several weeks after the parties ratify the agreement.
6/8/21 - Secretaries: The District and the Association met today to continue discussions.
6/8/21 - Teachers: The District and the Association met for the first time and worked collaboratively on bargaining ground rules and setting future dates.
